About Us

HISTORY

Adventure Sports Ministry (ASM) was founded in 2005 by Graham Gamble as an outreach program for youth in his community.

OUR VISION

To Serve Those Less Fortunate, to Get Them Excited About Growing Closer to God, and to Multiply Disciples.

OUR MISSION

To use the excitement of outdoor adventure activities as a platform to:

1) To show love, compassion, and support to less fortunate, at risk and abandoned youth, and give them a fun break from their life circumstances.
2) To help build their confidence and self esteem by teaching them fun skills.
3) Introduce youth to the exciting life found through salvation in Christ.
4) Help believers to be excited about growing towards spiritual maturity.
5) Inspire believers to make their life count by learning how to serve others and multiply disciples.
6) Give them easy opportunities and the simple tools to do it.

WHY IT WORKS SO WELL

Adventure Sports Ministry’s activities are a powerful disciple making platform because, when people are having a blast, they are more open and willing to listen to what they are being taught.

Having fun all day on a boat, and then seeing the beauty of a sunset creates an atmosphere where hearts are softened and open to spiritual discussions about our amazing creator who made that beauty.

Being in the mountains – snow skiing, mountain biking, etc – overwhelms the heart with the majesty of God, creating a natural opportunity to tell people about His love and passion for us.

When youth experience the satisfaction that comes from serving others and serving God, they become more confident and stable, and less susceptible to the temptation to get into drugs, alcohol or sex, and less influenced by the many negative forces that encourage them to stray from the path of righteousness.

HOW WE DO IT

ASM provides youth ages 11-17 with adventures in life and faith by using outdoor adventure sports such as wakeboarding, water skiing, tubing, mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding, etc. as the backdrop for an introduction to an adventurous faith in God and Jesus Christ.

Most of our adventures are done in small groups (8-15 youth), which fosters greater fellowship, a comfortable environment for self-expression and allows us to provide better mentoring and discipleship.

WHAT THEY LEARN

Through ASM, young men and women learn to:

Serve and inspire others.
Find God’s will for their lives.
Discover and develop their leadership skills.
Trust God fully through all of life’s ups and downs.
Find satisfaction and fulfillment by seeking and serving God.
Spend time in the Bible to learn mature perspectives and attitudes.

“Without a vision, the people perish” – Proverbs 29:18

Since its inception, ASM has positively impacted the lives of over 300 youth, and with your help, we can continue to share God’s love and positively impact the lives of many others!
